Arnav Misra

Ascend California - Congressional Debate Junior Instructor

Arnav Misra, a rising senior at Miramonte High School in Orinda, California, has been passionate about congressional debate since he began competing as a sophomore. Known to his peers as Senator Rizzma, Arnav is the 2024 National Champion for Congressional Debate in the Senate and has finaled at the Tournament of Champions, Berkeley, Stanford, and MLK Invitationals. Outside the debate world, Arnav loves to cook and shares his culinary creations on his @chefarnavmisra cooking account(with 200 followers). He believes in making debate fun and approachable, helping students find their own unique voice and strategy. At Ascend, he hopes to teach the next generation of speakers how to 'congrizz'.
